Trident kit for PC configuration

Trident announce the introduction of the ARTiGO from VIA, an ideal evaluation and development environment supporting the popular Pico-ITX.

The new ARTiGO Pico-ITX builder kit from Trident will enable embedded system designers to quickly configure a fully functioning PC based on the Pico-ITX motherboard for software development, debugging and pre-production testing. Once the evaluation hardware is assembled, the operating system can be installed, providing a fully functioning platform.

The kit contains a VIA EPIA PX10000 Pico-ITX board, chassis, power adaptor and accessories. The ARTiGO offers external connectivity to all the I/O ports and functionality on the motherboard, including the PS/2 port, 10/100 Ethernet connection and VGA output as well as audio ports and four USB 2.0 ports. Simply add RAM and a hard disk to enable a fully functioning PC solution. At just 150mm x 109mm the ARTiGO is ideal for applications with limited space.

The Pico-ITX motherboard is attracting a growing following, as it offers an attractive combination of high specification, small size and low power consumption. The board delivers a fully functioning multimedia PC, drawing approximately 20W when under full load. The board can support up to 1GB of DDR2 533 SODIMM system memory, and boasts a VIA UniChrome Pro II AGP 3D/2D graphics core, MPEG2/4 and WMV9 hardware decoding acceleration as well as a dedicated HD audio CODEC. The ARTiGO can accept a 2.5” IDE hard disk drive.

This exceptionally compact but powerful PC solution is compatible with popular PC operating systems such as Windows 2000/XP, WinCE and Windows XP Embedded.
