Littelfuse continues its acquisition trail with IXYS acquisition

Littelfuse has completed its acquisition of IXYS, bringing SiC expertise to the company. The deal, said to be valued at $750 million is the most recent, and largest made by the company, which acquired the TE Connectivity’s circuit protection business in 2015, for $350 million.

“As the largest acquisition in our 90-year history, this is an exciting milestone for Littelfuse,” said Dave Heinzmann, president and CEO, Littelfuse, when the acquisition was first announced. “IXYS’ extensive power semiconductor portfolio and technology expertise fit squarely within our strategy to accelerate our growth within power control and industrial OEM markets. The combination of Littelfuse and IXYS unites complementary capabilities, cultures and relationships.”

IXYS focuses on medium- to high-voltage power semiconductors across the industrial, communications, consumer and medical device markets. Its founder, Nathan Zommer has been appointed to the Littelfuse board of directors.
